Mr. Clayton Scharnhorst of Fredericksburg passed away on Monday June 28th in the Knopp Health and Rehab Center at the age of 88 years.

Clayton is survived by his wife Rita Scharnhorst of Fredericksburg Four daughters and spouses: Naomi and Larry Pyka of Fredericksburg Eileen and Greg Kaderli of Fredericksburg Jeanne and Charlie Kiehne of Fredericksburg Sandra and Keith Weinheimer of Fredericksburg 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild Sister and brother in laws: Lucille Scharnhorst of Fredericksburg Lorene and Charles Pfiester of San Antonio Beatrice and Clinton Hacker of Boerne Barbara Maurer of Fredericksburg

The body will lie in state in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home until 9:15 a.m. on Thursday July 1st and from 10 to 11:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bobby Vitek officiating.

Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the V.F.W., Pioneer Public Library, Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Visitation for Clayton Scharnhorst will be held on Wednesday June 30th from 4 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 7 to 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home of Fredericksburg.
