Mr. Abel Gutierrez Salazar of Fredericksburg, Texas, formerly Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico passed away on June 4th, 2010 in the Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg at the age of 88 years. Mr. Salazar was born May 29th, 1922 in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico, the son of Ignacio Cuevas Salazar and Maria De La Luz Gutierrez. Married Maria Isabel Barrientos in Mexico. Worked as a farm hand at numerous ranches in Mexico. Abel was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maria, daughter, Gloria Salazar, and son Abel Salazar, Jr., brothers, Jose and Silvestre Salazar. Survived by the following, three sons, two daughters, Humberto Salazar & wife of Fredericksburg, Ricardo Salazar & wife of Houston, Evelio Salazar & wife of Mexico, Mari Longoria & husband of Ozona, Texas, Norma Villagrana & husband of Fredericksburg. 28 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, Mr. Salazar was taken overland to the San Juan De Mata Cemetery in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico, where funeral services and interment were held on Thursday, June 10th, 2010.
